Black Widow Spouse 6

Laurel was still in shock over Blaze's death. She had never expected one of her children to die. How could the Grim Reaper be so callous? One thing was for sure, she would figure out how to get Blaze back, no matter what it took.

Still, life had to carry on, and Laurel had to carry out her mission. She invited Dominic over the next day, after swallowing a happy potion. She needed to get a grip. Still, the feel of Dominic's embrace provided her with a sense of comfort. She couldn't forget Blaze, no matter how many potions she chugged.

Since she had been wooing him for a while, it didn't take long for him to accept her proposal.

They held their wedding on the beach, close to Dominic's mansion.

As always, Laurel's vows were as hollow and empty as the first time she was married. With the loss of Blaze, she honestly didn't care too much at all at this point. It was a struggle to keep up appearances.

Despite the fact that she was wooing both brothers at one point, Dominic's brother Kevin stopped by the wedding. He was happing for Dominic, even if he was a bit jealous.

Little did Kevin know, he was really getting the better end of the deal.

Dominic's house was beautiful, indeed. Laurel could see herself living here for a long time, or at least until she made her way back to Forgotten Hollow. It helped that Sulani was far away from all the bad memories she'd lived through the past few days.

It wasn't long before Laurel was expecting again. She was feeling a bit over the whole pregnancy thing as well. Dominic didn't have any special powers, so it was unlikely that his child would be of much use to her. Still, they could always surprise her.

It wasn't long before Yvette's birthday arrived. For a few months, at least, Laurel would have all "grown" children in the house.

Unfortunately, Yvette grew up to be quite disappointing to Laurel. Yvette grew up into a good little girl. The last thing Laurel needed was another goody two shoes getting in her way. Yvette's only saving grace was the possible powers she inherited from Father Winter.

Nicolas, for his part, was still doing his best to try and get his younger siblings to see the light. He was furious to know that his mother had the audacity to kill Father Winter, and what was more, that she was carrying on like nothing happened when Blaze, her supposed favorite child, was gone.

Bernard, who wasn't too sure about his mother, was happy to meet Nicolas. Yvette was still young and naive, but she thought Nicolas seemed like a good person. She wondered what happened between him and their mother.

One thing was for sure, Nicolas would continue to keep an eye out on his younger siblings.

Laurel, for her part, spent most of her time scheming on how to get rid of her future victims. She was getting restless and wanted to spend as little time with them as possible.

Time was wasting, and though Vlad was immortal, she still wanted to prove to him that he messed with the wrong woman. She also wasn't as oblivious as Nicolas and Emmett thought. She knew they were skulking around, trying to turn her children against her. The sooner she completed her task, the better.

Bernard mentioned his meeting with Nicolas to Constance and was surprised by the panicked look on her face. She begged him to keep quiet and let him know that she had everything under control.

In fact, Constance, much like Nicolas before her, spent her time reassuring her younger siblings.

She had meant what she said to Emmett earlier. She wanted to help bring her mother down, but she was willing to do so by staying undercover as long as possible. She would do what was necessary to protect Bernard and Yvette, even if it meant getting her hands dirty herself.

It wasn't long before Constance was ready to grow up into a teenager. She had mixed feelings about the situation. On one hand, she could protect her younger siblings better. On the other hand, who knew what her mother would want her to do next.

Laurel was pleased to learn that Constance grew up to have a short fuse such as herself. She wasn't sure what she had in store for Constance yet, but she would figure something out.

Constance, meanwhile, looked on as Bernard enjoyed a slice of birthday cake completely oblivious. There had to be someway to save him before he fell under their mother's influence. At least he had met Nicolas. There could be hope for him yet.

Speaking of Nicolas, Constance went to visit him the next day. She reassured him that she was still on his side, but that she was willing to do what her mother asked of her as long as it kept Bernard and Yvette safe.

Nicolas was dismayed to hear this, but he also remembered being put in a tough position when he had to choose between his and Emmett's lives and taking Constance and Blaze with him. A part of him blamed himself for the position Constance was in.

Laurel, meanwhile, had come up with a plan for Bernard and Yvette. They were going to help her dispose of her next spouses, that way her hands would remain clean. They were so eager for her approval and love, that she was sure that they would agree to anything.

Of course, she wouldn't tell them exactly what they would be doing. She didn't want them running off. She just promised that she had a big surprise in store for the both of them.

Bernard couldn't wait to tell Yvette that their mother had special plans for them. Maybe that meant she loved them after all!

They didn't have to be evil or mean to get her approval. Yvette seemed relieved that their mother was beginning to take an interest in them.

While Laurel waited for Bernard and Yvette to have their teenage birthdays to put her plan into action, she decided to visit Del Sol Valley to find her next mark.

The Baily-Moon family were wealthy celebrities. Sure, she'd be taking a gamble by going after them, but she wanted their fame and prestige to get Vlad to notice her.

She waited and waited for one of the men to come out of the house. She wasn't picky really. Either Thorne or Orange would do.

Unfortunately, Thorne's wife Octavia was the only one who wandered out of the house that day.

Yvette plastered on a fake smile and pretended to be star struck, asking Octavia for her autograph. If she couldn't get to Orange or Thorne, maybe Octavia would be her ticket inside the house at least. She decided to try befriending her to get past security in the future.

Back at home, Dominic wasn't enjoying married life as much as he thought. In fact he was aggravated that Laurel had barely spent time with him since their wedding.

Sighing, he made Bernard's birthday cake. Someone had to look after these kids.

Bernard was excited to grow up to see what surprise his mother had in store for him. He couldn't wait for her to pay more attention to him!

Like Laurel, and a majority of her children, Bernard also grew up to be hot headed. He, however, shocked everyone by wanting to become a public enemy.

Constance felt a pit form in her stomach. What happened to her sweet brother who was worried about their mother's actions? Was her promise for attention after years of neglect really so much to make him turn a blind eye to her actions?

Since Bernard had the day off school, unlike the rest of his siblings, Laurel sent him on a special quest.

She was getting iffy feelings from both Constance and Yvette, so she figured it was best to put her plan into motion while they were gone.

It took several tries, but Bernard was able to find the special kelp that Laurel had sent him to look for.

Cautiously, he took a bite. Though the kelp didn't taste like much of anything, Bernard felt different than he had before.

When Bernard decided to go swimming, he was stunned to feel his legs morph into a tail. He was a mermaid! That was his mother's special surprise.

Since Laurel was resting due to the fact that she was about to give birth at any moment, Bernard decided to show Dominic his new powers. This would be so much fun!

Dominic was in shock to see that Bernard was a mermaid. He hadn't thought they existed, even in his wildest dreams. He was glad to see Bernard so happy. He hadn't seen his step-son smile this much since he met him.

Bernard playfully pulled Dominic underwater. Their were so many fun sea creatures to see!

However, when Bernard emerged, Dominic did not. Frantically he called his step-father's name to no avail.

The water began to get dark and cloudy, and an ominous feeling filled the air.

When the Grim Reaper appeared, Bernard floated in the water, frozen in terror. What had happened to Dominic? They were just playing around. Bernard didn't kill him, did he?

Laurel was unaware of her plan coming to fruition due to the fact that she was in labor. She gave birth to twin girls, Serenity and Antoinette.

However, it wasn't long before she found out what happened, as Bernard burst into the room in a panic.

To Bernard's surprise, his mother pulled him into a hug, comforting him and reassuring him Dominic's death wasn't his fault. In fact, she looked almost proud of him.

Maybe she was proud of him admitting to the accident, or maybe she was proud of what he did. To Bernard, it didn't matter. He finally had his mother's approval at long last.
