100 Little Mermaids Chapter 1

Me stating  yet another challenge? More likely than you think! For some reason I feel stressed anxious about my other challenges even though I love them, so I decided to try my hand at the 100 Baby Challenge. I'm using Generation 9 spare, Hibiscus from my Copeland Legacy. Several of her beginning parental donors will be contestants from her bachelorette challenge. Anyway, you don't really need to know anything about my legacy or that challenge. Just know that Hibiscus is now a mermaid who plans on having 100 mermaid babies. Let's begin!

When one of the elder mermaids of Sulani told Hibiscus that the mermaid population there was slowing dying out, Hibiscus was happy to step in and help. So what if she had to have 100 babies, or well her family would? Most of her ancestors, had like a billion kids, so she didn't really think it was a big deal. What was a big deal was the fact that she couldn't get a job and had to make money on her own. At least they set her up with a nice houses to start off with!

The elder even sent out a call to willing mermaids in other regions for help. Two such mermaids were Cherish Waffles and Cassie Weathers.

Cherish had been the elder's preferred first choice for Hibiscus, but when she visited, Cherish was too busy arguing with a tourist to pay much attention to her.

This lead Hibiscus to get to know Cherish's roommate Cassie better.

Much, much better.

After Cassie left, Hibiscus started feeling very hungry. Surely it was too early to have pregnancy cravings already. She just woohooed with Cassie like an hour ago.

Hibiscus took a bath, deep in thought. Now that she was possibly, probably pregnant, was she really ready for this baby thing?

Yeah she totally was. Defintely.

The next morning Hibiscus woke up feeling nauseous. This on top of last night's cravings were too big of coincidence. She was definitely pregnant.

She didn't expect her brain to turn to mush while she was pregnant. Why was she preparing food in her bathroom? That's totally gross!

During her pregnancy, Hibiscus became acquainted with several of the mermaids that had answered the call.

Katie was one of the mermaids, and she happened to stop by for breakfast quite often. Hibiscus didn't mind having the company. She was pretty lonely in her giant house.

Living in Sulani meant easy access to the ocean, which was great for a mermaid like her. She spent many afternoons swimming and playing in the water.

It wasn't all fun and games, however. Hibiscus had to figure out a way to support herself and her soon to be family. She tried to take up painting, but she wasn't the greatest at it. Still, she'd give it time. She didn't expect her early paintings to be masterpieces.

She also set some fishing traps, though being a mermaid, she felt kind of guilty trapping her fellow ocean friends to sell for money.

She used her mermaid powers to summon fish to catch. Hibiscus must not have had the best bait, though, because she didn't catch much.

Those she did catch, she didn't have the heart to sell. She decided to keep them in her aquarium.

Hibiscus appreciated the fact that she had help finding fellow mermaids, she really did. It was starting to grate on her nerves, however, how often random mermaids just waltzed into her house.

She did let them stay, however, if they brought along food. Less cooking she had to do herself.

As her due date approached, Hibiscus decided she needed to get to know some of these mermaids better. She stopped by to see Cherish again, hoping this time she'd be willing to talk.

Cherish seemed excited by the fact that Hibiscus was already expecting new little mermaids, even if they weren't her own.

The doctor had told Hibiscus she was expecting twins. This was unsurprising considering how common twins and even triplets were in Hibiscus's family.

Hibiscus brought Cherish back to her house to get a head start on wooing her, and discovered that one of her other mermaid guests, Kiernan had not left.

She supposed he was harmless enough, though because all he was doing was talking to her fish.

Cherish, however, did not seem to want to be wooed. She said she was way too hungry to think about flirting.

Hibiscus sighed, and headed inside to pour herself a glass of water. She was ready for this pregnancy to be over with. Maybe agreeing to have this many babies wasn't the best idea.

Exhausted, Hibiscus headed to bed only to find Kiernan asleep there. Now he had definitely worn out his welcome.

After being shooed out of her room, Kiernan decided to stick around, as did Cherish. Hibiscus felt like she was running a mermaid bed and breakfast.

Wanting to get out of the house to avoid her new "roommates" Hibiscus decided to try her hand at fishing again.

Her attempt didn't last long, however, as she soon went into labor. Maybe water would make it hurt less?

Floating in the water didn't seem to do anything but delay the inevitable, so Hibiscus decided to head home to give birth.

To her surprise, she only had one baby, a little girl she decided to name snow.

Snow was already starving pretty much seconds after being born. Hibiscus wondered what happened to the other baby. Did snow absorb them? Was that a thing that happened with mermaid babies?

Cassie asked if she could come over to meet Snow, which Hibiscus readily agreed to. She thought Cassie should meet her daughter, and Hibiscus really needed a nap.

Cassie seemed a bit more interested in the fish than her child, though.

Apparently Hibiscus wasn't allowed to get any rest, however, since Vlad decided to play a visit.

"Dude, can you leave? I'm really tired since I just had a baby."

"I'm thirsty. I need human blood to survive."

"I'm a mermaid though."

"Close enough."

"Is it?"

"Maybe I did make a mistake. Mermaid blood happens to taste quite fishy. Not agreeable to my  highly refined palette at all."

When Hibiscus came too, she found that Vlad was still there playing on his phone. She rolled her eyes. What was wrong with this guy?

He then decided to follow her upstairs and stare at her while she ate.

"I thought you only drank blood."

"I do."

"Then why are you trying to steal my food."

"Your blood did not taste the greatest. Maybe a human meal would do me some good."

"No."

"Are you sure? Just one plate for your old friend?"

"NO! We're not friends either, so kindly leave my house before I make you."

Life went on, however, and after dealing with Vlad's nonsense, Hibiscus decided to invite Cherish over to start on baby number two. Maybe Vlad annoying her was her punishment for not choosing Cherish first like she was supposed to.

Once again, it only took one session of woohooing before Hibiscus was pregnant again. She was doing a decent job of taking care of Snow, even though it had only been one day, so she felt fairly confident she could take care of another baby.

Next time we'll see what Snow looks like as a toddler and more babies! I'm not sure how I'll do updates. I'm thinking of having them consist of one full pregnancy and the start of the next. More kids will probably mean more happening in later chapters.

Also Hibiscus was totally supposed to be having twins according to MCCC up until the moment she gave birth, so I'm not sure what happened there.
