100 Little Mermaids Chapter 3

Hibiscus was starting to get really worn out. A toddler, she could handle, a baby too sure no problem. Both of those on top of being pregnant? Not so much.

There were lots of sleepless nights, and waking up in the middle of the night to eat and pee. Seriously this pregnancy was even worse than last time. It didn't help that Belgium seemed to be the neediest baby ever. Hibiscus wondered if she was a needy baby.

Kiernan was nice enough to stop by and check on her from time to time. While she appreciated it, she kind of wished he would help out with the kids too. He did chores when she first met him for heavens sakes! Still, she guessed that was a lot to ask since Snow and Belgium weren't really his kids.

Toddler twins from the Hecking family in Brindleton Bay decided to visit Hibiscus's house. She wondered what kind of parents would let their toddlers wander around at night. How did they even get to Sulani? Were they somehow able to get a bus ticket?

Hibiscus had heard the new trend in parenting was to have popcorn available for toddlers at all times. Since it would help take a little bit of responsibility off her plate, she figured it couldn't hurt to try.

Snow quickly decided that she loved popcorn, and declared she would eat nothing else for the rest of her life.

One thing Snow didn't love was bath time...

...or anything Hibiscus tried to get her to do actually.

"Snow, I'm going to teach you some shapes, okay?"

"I'M GOING TO TEACH YOU SHAPES!"

Hibiscus felt like she was running around constantly. Between tending to Belgium's needs and trying to get Snow to cooperate, she was worn down.

Snow was learning and growing quickly. She just preferred to do so without any help from her mother. She was a big girl!

Snow also wasn't very happy about Belgium. Hibiscus was dreading what would happen when she had her next babies.

She was expecting twins again, and she was a bit worried after what happened last time. Hopefully there would actually be two babies.

"See, learning blocks isn't so bad! Aren't you having fun?"

"More fun without mommy!"

Before long, it was time for Belgium's birthday. He grew up to be an Angelic toddler with Cherish's hair and Hibiscus's eyes.

Belgium got real food as a special treat for his birthday. After that, Hibiscus was sure he'd join his sister on the popcorn bandwagon.

Once everyone was asleep Belgium decided to make his own fun and throw paint around. Thankfully it was on the upstairs patio. Hibiscus hoped the rain would wash the mess away.

Belgium continued to be the same as when he was a baby. He was always needing something, usually multiple somethings at the same time. Food, a nap, a bath, the potty, to play.

As a pregnant woman, Hibiscus could relate because her needs were also all over the place.

Snow, despite her defiance, managed to learn all she needed to know before her childhood birthday.

Hibiscus rushed to make her a cake. She was excited to have a child around the house with a little more independence, though she would miss those toddler snuggles.

In her rush to make the cake, she decided to forgo using the restroom. Big mistake there!

"At least I didn't get anything on the cake. Who cares if I stink, she'll still like it right?"

Snow blew out her candles on her rather questionable looking cake.

And Hibiscus promptly face planted and fell asleep.

"Why can't mommy sleep in a chair like me?"

Snow grew up to be an Active child that wanted to be a Social Butterfly.

Snow was definitely not going to eat her mother's disgusting looking cake. She picked it up and promptly threw it in the trash. She would not be served such food!

"Uni, you're my new mommy! Will you play with me?"

Uni just stared at Belgium with the same blank expression on its face.

"Yay, I'm hungry and tired and have to pee. Welcome to another day of being pregnant."

"So this is what real food tastes like! Maybe popcorn isn't my favorite food after all."

Snow suddenly had the desire to try all the foods out there and find the best like her. She was a princess, and she deserved only the best!

Hibiscus rolled her eyes at Cherish's text.
She wanted to call and scream at her, "That's your son you know! You could at least come and visit!"

Snow didn't understand why she had to do homework. One, she was a princess, and two, she hadn't even had her first day of school yet!

Much to Hibiscus's relief, Belgium was a lot easier to potty train. He didn't throw a fit like Snow did any time she told him to do something.

As her due date arrived, Hibiscus realized she should start wooing the next mermaid on her list. Unfortunately for her, when she went out to great Kara, she was attacked by bees. She didn't really feel so bad for selling their honey now.

"So you're the one who's helping repopulate Sulani's mermaids. I'm glad that I don't have that job."

"Um...thanks?"

Maybe it was Kara's previous comment, or maybe it was the fact that Hibiscus felt like crap, but her wooing wasn't going as planned.

Finally, she was able to get Kara to warm up to her and spend some quality time at the local bonfire. Of course right at that moment, she felt the familiar pangs of labor hit. She would push through it, though, for now.

Things only got worse when Cherish showed up and threw a fit over seeing her with Kara.

"It's not like you actually care," Hibiscus grumbled to herself.

Still, it looked like that was a good of sign as any that maybe she should get home and have these babies. She apologized to Kara, and they made plans to meet up later.

Hibiscus managed to waddle back home and make it to the bassinet to have her kids.

What she wasn't expecting was the addition of a third child. None of this made any sense to her. She was supposed to have twins before, but only gave birth to Snow. This time when she was supposed to have twins, she gave birth to triplets Simon, Charlotte, and Marisol. Mermaid pregnancy and birth made no sense.

Thankfully, Snow and Belgium were sleeping, which gave her a chance to take care of the triplets.

She really wanted to get things started with Kara, though.

Hibiscus felt like she was stuck in a loop. She'd feed and cuddle a baby, move down the line to the next one, and by the time she was finished the first needed a diaper change, and after she finished changing diapers, they were all hungry again.

"Really mom? You had to have three more?"

Snow was, unsurprisingly, not pleased to meet the new arrivals.

Once Hibiscus miraculously got all the triplets to sleep at the same time and Snow off to school, she called Kara to well, get down to business.

"I'm pregnant!"

"Well that's nice I guess."

Hibiscus sighed, yet another unenthusiastic parent. At least Cassie and Kiernan seemed to be supportive so far.

And that's where we'll end things for now! Hibiscus is expecting twins again, and since there's no extra room in the house, there shouldn't be a surprise baby this time.

Below are some credits and a look at my naming themes. All kids have names relating to their parents in some way.

  • Cassie Weathers (made by: ? ) - Snow (a type of weather)
  • Cherish Waffles (made by: Sharla91) - Belgian (a type of waffle, and I'll be correcting his name next time I'm in game)
  • Kiernan Lewis (made by: Diego2Memphis) - Simon (named after Simon Lewis from The Mortal Instruments Series/Shadowhunters TV show), Charlotte (named after Charlotte Lewis from Lost), Marisol (named after Marisol Lewis from Degrassi I've never watched Degrassi, but I was in a hurry to find an extra fictional character with the last name Lewis, and this was my favorite name on the list.)
  • Kara Doherty (made by: Calisimsgirl) - Her children will be named after characters from the Supergirl comics.
